Is it me or did January pass at an outrageously quick pace?
Work is definitely starting to balance itself out. Let's just say that going to sleep by 9 p.m. and getting plenty of weekend happy hour time has been helping out with the balance...
I love how there's always something to do there, but always feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water with the myriad of events, meetings, deadlines, writing, editing, etc. The positive thing is that I finished my first content for the March print issue where the first true edit was my own. So yay to that!
Actually, I've been attempting to update Postpositions as you might have noticed. It'll have a slightly different design per page and I'm changing a few of the post series. Today, I updated my portfolio so ch-ch-check it out. (Not sure if that was awesome or awkward. At least we know it is a word with an "aw" prefix.) Let's just say for now that it'll definitely be a weekend project.
Random thought: When Coachella tickets went on sale last week, I was thisclose to purchasing them. Ad and I have been trying to save for our West coast trip this summer so I had to defer. Of course they became sold out within the week and that hinging feeling of regret started creeping up. Anyway, Adam's sister, Abby, is graduating from high school, so we're going to take two weeks in early June to drive up the coast to Venice Beach, San Francisco, Portland, Seaside, Seattle, Spokane and then make our way back with the possible stop to Vancouver. IT BETTER BE WORTH IT. If not, I'll consult L'Oreal.
Random thought, part deux: I have been having vivid and freaking terrifying dreams this past week. All of the ones from this week have to do with the apocalypse. I went through a series of tornadoes that happened simultaneously around the world and helped survivors move on from their lives; the world exploded and jerked me away from fear with a ringing in my ear; and then a rock-like Godzilla tried to murder me in a Moab-like setting where a mythological society had disappeared thousands of years previously. This, clearly, has led me to a Google frenzy where solid sources of knowledge and explanation truly exist. Ultimately, I believe that I just have an over-active imagination under stress.
With the whole music-love theme, here's the playlist, Heart Tingles, to get you through the week. I highly suggest that you play "I Love It" by Icona Pop over and over and over. It's definitely what I've been doing...
How have you been? What have you been up to?

Your summer trip sounds awesome, I think it will definitely be worth it.
ReplyDeleteI had a period of frequent apocalypse dreams recently. Hated it.
ReplyDeleteHubs and I spent three nights in Portland this past summer at this lovely little lodging: http://www.tierrasoulpdx.com/ Loved Portland so much - plus, our doggie was welcome EVERYWHERE, pretty much!
